Salespeople have a reputation for being people who can talk a lot or have a 'gift of the gab'. The stereotype is of fast-talking salesperson who can convince anyone of anything. Of course the stereotype is not quite true, but still many people in sales still believe that their job is to convince. However, when the shoe is on the other foot, as a buyer we always rate the salespeople higher who take the time to listen and understand our needs. Listening makes all the difference.
